Chamber Network Meeting with the Caribbean Business Cruise 4

On Wednesday 28th February at the Multipurpose Cultural Center, we hosted a group from Guadeloupe as part of their 'Caribbean Business Cruise'. Presentations were made by representatives from the Antigua Cruise Port; Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority; Sandals Grand Resort & Spa; and the private sector concerning investing in Antigua and Barbuda.


Chamber Biennial General Meeting and Post BGM Panel Discussion on the Economy

On Thursday 22nd February 2024 we had our Biennial General Meeting at the Cortsland Hotel. Afterward, we hosted an informative and insightful moderated panel discussion focusing on the reasons for the rise in the ABST, other tax increases, and the impact of those and other possible changes to other tariffs on the business sector and the economy in general. The panelists were Mr. Ralph Warner, Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department; Mr. Orin Steele, Director of Prices and Consumer Affairs; Mr. Peter Abraham Jr., Debt Manager at the Ministry​ of Finance; and Mr. Neil Coates, Director of Tax Services at Grant Thornton.



Chamber Business Luncheon with the new United States Ambassador

On Thursday 1st February 2024, we hosted a luncheon with the new United States Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and the OECS at Royalton Antigua.

Chamber Youth Crime and Violence Alleviation Town Hall Meeting

On Tuesday 14th November 2023, we hosted a Youth Crime and Violence Alleviation Town Hall Meeting at the Multipurpose Cultural Centre where we addressed the pressing matter of crime and violence among our youth.




Chamber Business Breakfast with the IMF

On Thursday 26th September 2023, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the State Insurance Company Limited Conference Centre featuring Dr. Emine Boz.




Chamber Business Breakfast with ABIPCO & IRD

On Thursday 25th May 2023, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa featuring presenters; Ricki Camacho and Mr. Jermaine Jarvis. The main goal of this event was for ABIPCO and IRD to demystify Business Compliances.

Chamber Business Luncheon with Hon. Gaston Browne

On Thursday 30th March 2023, we hosted a Business Luncheon at the Sandals Grande Resort and Spa featuring the Honorable Gaston A. Browne. Following the release of Antigua and Barbuda’s Annual Budget for 2023 presented, we thought it important to hear firsthand from the head of government on his plans for the country’s economy and to do so in a format that would allow for the type of engagement that would allow your voices as a business community and critical stakeholders in the said economy to be heard.

Trade Talk Part 2

On the 26th of January 2023, we hosted an event at the Cortsland Hotel featuring the Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Port Authority Mr. Darwin Telemaque. We explored just how the procedures at the St John’s Cargo Port are affecting our operations, and what wins can be had from a better understanding of them.

Trade Talk Part 1

On the 3rd of November 2022, we hosted an event at the Cortsland Hotel. We engaged the Comptroller of Customs, Mr. Raju Boddu to understand the changes, in his division, which should bring some benefits to the business community.

Tax Talk Breakfast Forum

On Thursday 7th July 2022, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the Sandals Grande Resort & Spa. For this meeting, we addressed the effects of some existing taxes on the business community.

Telecommunications Breakfast Forum

On Thursday 7th March 2022, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the Hodges Bay Club Hotel.

2020

International Monetary Fund

On Thursday 13th February 2020, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the Sandals Grande Resort. Deputy Division Chief and Mission Chief for Peru and Antigua & Barbuda Mr. Leo Bonato was the presenter. The main goal of this event was to discuss the IMF's Perspective on the trends of Antigua & Barbuda's economic performance in relation to regional and global economies.

ECSE IPO Seminar

On the 27th of August 2019, we hosted a Business Luncheon at the Trade Winds Hotel. Trevor Blake and Tarlie Francis were the two guest speakers who discussed funding for strategic growth.

Global Ports holding Breakfast

On the 20th of March 2019, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the Trade Winds Hotel. The main goal of this event was to have an introductory meeting with the business community of Antigua & Barbuda.

Brexit Luncheon

On the 30th of January 2019, we hosted a Business Luncheon at the Starfish Jolly Beach Resort. The main goal of this event was to discuss The topic of the UK and The Caribbean and The Post Brexit Future.

CCJ Breakfast

On Monday 26th September 2018, we hosted a breakfast at the Cortsland Hotel. We focused on discussing Antigua and Barbuda’s key structural and policy challenges in the near and medium term and how can they be improved to enhance the business environment.

ECCB Breakfast - 2018

On Thursday, June 14, 2018, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the Sugar Ridge Resort. The main goal of this event was to discuss Transforming the ECCU Together: Performance. prospects, and Emerging Issues.

2017

Brexit Breakfast

On April 12th, 2017, we hosted a Business Breakfast at the Trade Winds Hotel. Director of Economic Policy and Prosperity Studies, Legatum Institute, London, UK Mr. Shanker Singham was a featured guest. The main goal of this event was to discuss the Implications for Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean.

ECCB Breakfast

On Thursday 16th February 2017, we hosted a Business Breakfast in collaboration with the Antigua & Barbuda Bankers Association at the Sandals Grande Resort and Spa. ECCB Governor Timothy Antoine was a featured speaker and discussed Assessment & Projections for the Economic Performance of the OECS Economic Union and Antigua & Barbuda.
