Our Objectives
Our Objectives
1. Disaster Risk Reduction:
We work with local bodies such as NODS, or other regional or international organisations to obtain and disseminate information on imminent dangers or threats.
We will also seek to mitigate risk for our members by sharing information on the best way to build resilience into the systems of organisations, such as best building practices, business continuity planning, and regular risk assessments.
2. Advocacy and Membership Value:
We seek, where possible, to represent our members’ interest intra-chamber to address and settle issues that may arise among members; extra-chamber: between our members and non-members of the chamber such as organs of the state, etc.
We will seek to use our size and influence to negotiate for better prices on goods and services on offer to our membership, so that we add value to membership, which include member discounts.
3. Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices:
We will seek to engage the leading thinkers on various matters which are relevant to good corporate governance, and industry advancement with an aim to share that knowledge for the benefit of our members.
We will seek to inform ourselves of the latest standard practices to ensure that our members operate in an environment that is safe and secure.
4. Trade Facilitation, Trade Promotion & Transportation:
Trade Facilitation:
We seek to ensure that legitimate trade is conducted as efficiently as possible, by adhering to the prescriptions of the National Trade Agreement.
We promote a local production to supply the needs of our goods and services.
Trade Promotion:
We encourage recycling of used/discarded items which may be repurposed to reduce waste, and provide materials for manufacturing or value-adding.
We embrace trade opportunities through Business Expositions, Trade Fairs, Trade Missions, etc.
